WineBev 508

WineBev 508, our Community-Based Program, provides employment, volunteer, recreation, and education activities located in the Napa community and surrounding areas.  Adults with developmental disabilities are provided the same support as they would receive at the WineBev Services Adult Day Program, but greater emphasis is placed on community integration activities. Transportation is provided to and from home and into the community on passenger vans owned and operated by United Cerebral Palsy of the North Bay.

All of our employees with developmental disabilities enrolled in the program are paid market-rate wages for working at our secondary production warehouse.  The primary project at the warehouse is assembling cardboard and Styrofoam shipping kits for wineries.  Some of the employees work on-site at local wineries that contract with WineBev Services for packaging their wines.  Activities during non-work hours include attending community college classes, learning public transportation, and delivering Meals on Wheels.

WineBev 508 provides a balance of work and social activities that develop greater independence and self-esteem.  Our employees are paid weekly – reinforcing work and providing income that may be used to meet basic needs and enjoy recreation activities with friends and family members.  We are pleased that our employees make friends at work and that those friendships enrich their lives everyday.  Helping our employees actively live, work, and recreate in the community is the essence of the Community-Based Program.
